National Missile Defense

National missile defense (NMD) is quickly becoming the first real foreign policy/national security initiative of the Bush administration. To proponents, deploying a missile defense represents a prudent response to emerging threats. To opponents, NMD represents a risky scheme, based on technology that has not yet been developed, that is guaranteed to undermine existing arms control treaties. The links I've assembled below highlight some of the primary organizations involved (both pro and con) in the NMD debate, some assorted documents, including full text of the 1972 ABM Treaty, as well as the latest missile defense news from a variety of sources.
